Peer Tutoring is well under way. If you want help or want to help, then registration forms for tutors and tutees can be found on the SLC page, in the Guidance office or in the Library. Drop off your signed forms at the Guidance office or come by room C1.
Night School: Students are reminded that TDSB Night School registration opens on January 9th at 12:01 a.m.., and closes on February7th at 2:00 p.m. Classes start the week of February13th and run to the week of June12th (twice per week for three hours each – no break). Registration is on-line through www.creditprograms.ca. For more information, see bulletin board across from the main office. You need to get approval from your Guidance Counsellor as the final step before the deadline, or you are not registered in the course!!!
If this is your last semester at VPCI, you are invited to attend a brief important meeting at 11:45 a.m. in the Conference room across from Guidance on January 13th to receive important leaving school information.
Timetable changes for Semester 2 must be requested by January 24th. Course availability is limited but if you would like to consider a change, please come in to Guidance to discuss with your Counsellor ASAP.

CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY IMMERSE SUMMER 2017 OPPORTUNITY: Cambridge Immerse is a two-week academic summer residential programme for 16 – 18 year old students from around the world. It is designed and taught by Cambridge University and Oxford University tutors, which take place in colleges of Cambridge University. The programme focuses on academic needs of the participants and provides a unique insight into the University City through an abundance of activities. Students are pushed to question in a variety of subjects from the Arts to the Sciences. Participant assessments are provided at the end of the program to enrich the student’s awareness of themselves and their area of career interest. There are two sessions in the summer of 2017. Applications must be made via the online application form found at www.cambridgeimmerse.com. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) HORIZON AWARD: If you are a leader, an achiever, or an innovator who has limitless drive, ambition and determination and will be attending a post-secondary program in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) in the fall of 2017, check out an amazing award at www.steamhorizonawards.ca. To be eligible, one must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, between the ages of 16 – 18 years old at the time of application, must be recognized for STEAM – related accomplishments, must be maintaining a minimum academic average of 85% and must be either preparing to enroll, or currently enrolled in their first year of post-secondary education in a STEAM field in Canada. This is an opportunity for up to seven students each to receive a $25,000 prize for their post-secondary education – including two prizes for Indigenous youth. Deadline for applications is January 9, 2017
