Guidance Corners – January 23 – 27
Night School: Students are reminded that TDSB Night School registration opened on January 9th at 12:01 a.m., and closes on February7th at 2:00 p.m. Classes start the week of February13th and run to the week of June12th (twice per week for three hours each night – no break). Registration is on-line through www.creditprograms.ca. For more information, see bulletin board across from the main office. You need to get approval from your Guidance Counsellor as the final step before the deadline, or you are not registered in the course!!!
Timetable changes for Semester 2 must be requested by January 24th. Course availability is limited but if you would like to consider a change, please come in to Guidance to discuss with counsellor ASAP.
Semester 2 Courses: If you will not attain a pre-requisite for a course for next semester, please see your Guidance Counsellor IMMEDIATELY to make a change. Same thing, if you have a blank, WAIT, or FIXTT on your timetable. Course change forms are available now in Guidance.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR): Is a process whereby active TDSB day school or Continuing Education students may obtain credit toward their OSSD for knowledge and skills that they have acquired outside of the classroom. Students prior learning is assessed and evaluated to determine whether they have met the provincial curriculum expectations as outlined in specific ministry curriculum policy documents. If you are interested in challenging a credit through this process, you and your parent/guardian/caregiver must attend a mandatory information session on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Earl Haig Secondary School, 100 Princess Avenue, Toronto. Please see Mrs. Pengelly in the Guidance if you have any questions.

University of Waterloo Faculty Mathematics Entrance Scholarships (Olympiad, National and Global): Applicants to a full-time program in the Faculty (excluding Software Engineering, and Computing and Financial Management) are eligible to apply.
